Advanced clock synchronization

The synchronization of the internal clock is the keystone of a timestamp server.

The process is based upon the comparison test between the internal clock and an external time source - renowned for long-term reliability - using the Network Time Protocol.

The synchronization algorithm developed by Cryptolog detects both instantaneous gaps against the external time source, and the low drifts by analyzing the gap journal.

This analysis allows to ensure the reliability of the external time source, by watching gaps under a given threshold.

Any desynchronization of the internal clock or loss of connection with the external time source shuts all the timestamp units down!
